I used to work out at Equinox just so I could treat myself to a Flax Master smoothie from Earth Bar after my workout.  I dreamed about this smoothie.  It’s a perfectly sweet, nutty, creamy combo that tastes amazing and is packed with nutrients.

After buying a few too many expensive smoothies and realizing that they had more sugar than I wanted, I decided to attempt the Flax Master smoothie at home.  I experimented with less fruit to make the smoothie lower in sugar. I included spinach for added fiber, vitamins and minerals.  I used collagen in place of Earth Bar’s protein powder and I used almond milk in place of coconut water.  After a few tries, I nailed my own version of the recipe (IMO).

Wild Flaxberry Smoothie Recipe

  • 1½ cups almond milk ~ I like the brand three trees

  • 1 frozen banana

  • ½ cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 Sambazon Pure Unsweetened Frozen Açaí Packet

  • A few big handfuls frozen spinach

  • 1 heaping TBSP almond butter

  • 1 scoop collagen peptides ~ use code WHBT for 10% off your first order at Further Food

  • 1 TBSP ground flaxseed

  • 1 TBSP maca

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Topping Ideas - granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds, almond butter drizzle. Use code WHBT for 10% off Purely Elizabeth granola

Pour the almond milk in in the blender, add the fruit and vegetables, and then then add the superfoods.  Start the blender speed on medium and slowly increase the speed using the tamper to push the ingredients together.  The tamper is key if you like your smoothies THICK like I do.

Pour it up and savor each sip.  If you’re feeling extra wild, add toppings to your smoothie and devour it with a spoon.  This smoothie is packed with protein, fat and nutrients that will give you energy, balance your hormones, and sustain you.  I personally eat it as a meal replacement for breakfast.

I hope you enjoy the Wild Flaxberry smoothie as much as I do! Sip sip hooray!
